Mary Ubatuba, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Ubatuba has been Chief of Staff at Animal Clinic at New Lenox since September 2009. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, she now resides in the western suburbs of Chicago. Dr. Ubatuba attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate, earning her degree in 2001. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM degree with honors in 2005. After graduation from vet school,she completed a one year small animal rotating internship at Texas A&M University and then went on to practice at the Animal Care Clinic of Homer Glen in Homer Glen, Illinois before joining us here. We feel so lucky to have such an outstanding and experienced Chief of Staff treating our beloved patients at Animal Clinic at New Lenox!
David Teykl, DVM
Dr. Teykl has been practicing at Animal Clinic at New Lenox since 2000. He was the valedictorian of his 1982 graduating class at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Teykl has special interests in skin and ear diseases, allergy diagnosis and treatment, and endocrinology.
Dr. Teykl is married and has three children. The Teykl family also includes two cats named Lily and Lucy. He and his family reside in the south suburban area where he has lived his whole life. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, fishing and gardening.
Annie Ubatuba, DVM
Dr. Annie Ubatuba, grew up in the Chicago Suburbs. She attended Northern Illinois University for her undergraduate degree and received her DVM at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed an internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute with a focus in sports medicine and then worked as an equine ambulatory practitioner at Merritt and Associates Equine Hospital in Northern Illinois. She has spent the last two years working in small animal and emergency practice at the Animal Care Center of Plainfield.
Kathleen Keene, DVM
Dr. Kathleen Keene grew up on the southwest side of Chicago and recently moved back to the city after graduating from veterinary school. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014 and earned a DVM degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. Her special interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology and surgery.
In her spare time, Dr. Keene enjoys many outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking and running. She also loves spending time with family and friends, cooking and testing new recipes, finding new places to explore, and attending as many concerts as possible.
Dr. Keene also cares for two goofy pups, a black lab mix named Marlon Brando and a pit bull-boxer mix named Betty.
